CUET-UG Results Released: Your Guide to Next Steps for University Admissions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG), earlier than expected this year. This marks the beginning of the admission process for central universities across India, which will now start counselling and seat allocation in the coming days.

Participating universities—including 49 central universities, 41 state universities, 27 deemed universities, 120 private universities, and seven other government institutions—will soon publish their counselling schedules and merit lists. These lists will be based on CUET scores along with any additional criteria set by each institution.

Students are advised to regularly check the official websites of their preferred universities for updates. Many universities have their own admission portals where registration will begin shortly. The NTA has stated that it will share results directly with the universities, and its role ends with the declaration of results.

For students wondering what to do next, the first step is to visit the list of participating universities on the NTA website (cuet.nta.nic.in/participating-universities/). Then, check each university's admission prospectus for programme-specific eligibility and required subjects. Universities will soon upload detailed information on programmes, seat matrices, and timelines.

Last year, the process varied by university. For instance, Delhi University launched its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal, where students registered, mapped subjects, selected preferences, and then seats were allocated. Similar processes are expected this year.

Regarding board examinations, their role differs across institutions. Some universities require a minimum Class 12 score (e.g., 45–50%), while others may use board results as a tie-breaker if two students have identical CUET scores. Universities will clarify these details in their upcoming announcements.

Students are encouraged to stay informed and act promptly once universities open their registration windows.
