Central Districts Leave No Stone Unturned for NEET 2026 Re-Test on June 21
Extensive preparations have been completed across central districts for the smooth conduct of the NEET 2026 re-test scheduled for Sunday, June 21. District administrations in Pudukottai, Karur, and Nagapattinam have put in place comprehensive security, logistical, and medical arrangements to ensure a fair and hassle-free examination for thousands of candidates.
In Pudukottai district, 3,242 candidates are set to appear for the test. District Collector M. Aruna reviewed the readiness of examination centres and confirmed that nine officers have been deputed to supervise venues and monitor facilities. Police personnel have been deployed at all centres. The Electricity Department has ensured uninterrupted power supply and established emergency response teams to address any electrical issues. Medical teams and ORS packets will be available at all centres for immediate assistance. Additional bus services have been arranged before and after the examination. Fire and Rescue Services personnel have taken precautionary measures at question paper custody centres, answer script collection centres, and examination venues.
In Karur district, 1,733 candidates will take the exam across five centres. Five chief invigilators have been appointed to oversee the process. A total of 44 police personnel have been deployed for security and safe transportation of examination materials. Executive magistrates will monitor the movement of question papers and answer scripts. To facilitate travel, 46 special buses have been arranged. Around 20 electricity department officials will ensure uninterrupted power supply. Four medical teams comprising 12 health officials, along with ambulances, will be stationed at centres. District-level observers have been assigned for each venue, and Fire and Rescue Services personnel with a fire tender will remain on standby. Special provisions have been made for candidates with disabilities, including 10 wheelchairs and 10 assistants, with drinking water and toilet facilities confirmed at all centres.
In Nagapattinam district, Collector K. J. Praveen Kumar inspected arrangements at Natarajan Dhamayanthi Higher Secondary School on Saturday. A total of 1,513 candidates — 544 boys and 969 girls — will appear for the test at five centres. The administration has deployed 10 supervisors, five observers, and 128 hall invigilators. Authorities have installed 93 CCTV cameras and arranged 29 mobile phone jammers to maintain examination integrity and prevent malpractice.
