The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has directed Dabur India to halt the sale of certain products that carry labels such as '100% Natural' and '100% Pure'. The regulatory action, which has stirred the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, raises key questions about how food and cosmetic claims are verified under Indian law.

According to an FSSAI order, the regulator found that Dabur had not provided adequate scientific evidence to support absolute claims of purity or naturalness on product labels.
