In Gujarat, the Manjalpur bypoll was held after the passing of BJP MLA and former minister Yogesh Patel. The constituency in Vadodara city recorded a voter turnout of 37.5 per cent. The key contest is between the BJP's Satish Govindbhai Patel and the Congress's Bhikhabhai Rabari. The counting is underway at a government facility in the city, with results expected in phases. This bypoll is being watched as a measure of the Congress's ability to challenge the BJP's long-standing dominance in Gujarat.
