BJP announces major organisational overhaul, appoints 13 vice-presidents and new general secretaries

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced a significant organisational reshuffle, appointing 13 vice-presidents and eight national general secretaries as part of a broader restructuring exercise. The new team was unveiled under party chief Nitin Nabin.

Among the 13 vice-presidents are former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Ram Madhav, and D Purandeshwari. The list also includes former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, former Union Minister Bharti Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, and Tariq Mansoor.

In a separate appointment, the party named eight new national general secretaries, including former Union Minister Smriti Irani, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Sunil Bansal, Vinod Tawde, and Satish Poonia. The party chose to retain B.L. Santhosh as national general secretary (organisation), ensuring continuity in that key role.

Additionally, Shivprakash and Saudan Singh were appointed as national joint general secretaries (organisation). Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi, and Sanjay Bhatia were named as national general secretaries, further expanding the organisational team.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the party treasurer, a position that holds significant financial responsibility. The party also named 16 national secretaries, including former Aam Aadmi Party leader Sandeep Pathak, Anil Antony, and Rohan Gupta.

The reshuffle comes as the BJP aims to strengthen its organisational structure ahead of upcoming electoral challenges. The appointments reflect a mix of experienced leaders and newer faces, signalling an effort to balance regional representation and organisational expertise.
