Ayodhya Police Probes Land Deals by Associates of Ram Temple Theft Accused

The Ayodhya Police, investigating the alleged theft and embezzlement of cash and valuables donated at the Ram Temple, have requested the district revenue department to examine land purchases made by 20 individuals linked to the eight arrested men.

According to police sources, these 20 people are close relatives and associates of the accused, who are suspected of having been entrusted with assets or financial dealings on behalf of the arrested individuals. The police are verifying whether any of these associates purchased land using proceeds from the alleged theft.

The eight arrested men are Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav, Ramshankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava, Avinash Shukla, Lavkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, and Karunesh Pandey. Except for Ram Shankar Yadav and Subhash Srivastava, the other six accused were directly involved in counting donations made to the temple, according to officials.

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, attracts around two million visitors every month. The investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds has drawn significant attention due to the temple's religious and political importance.
