Andhra Pradesh to Distribute 72.7 Lakh Land Ownership Passbooks by 2027: CM Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state government will distribute 72,70,605 Pattadar passbooks (land ownership documents) across 9,833 villages by March 2027. The announcement was made during the 'Mee Bhumi - Mee Hakku' (Your Land - Your Right) programme in Banaganapalle, Nandyal district.

Naidu stated that the passbooks, bearing the official state emblem, aim to secure property rights for landowners and reduce land disputes. He said the government has repealed the Land Titling Act, which he described as a source of public fear, and is now working to resolve existing land conflicts.

The Chief Minister also highlighted development initiatives in the Rayalaseema region, including the proposed Kadapa Steel Plant, Hero Motors facility, and an AMCA defence fighter jet plant. He noted that projects in defence, aerospace, electronics, and automobiles would create employment opportunities.

Addressing water scarcity, Naidu cited below-normal rainfall due to El Niño and urged judicious water use. He praised the Nandyal district administration for constructing an 18-kilometre feeder channel and check dams as part of the 'Jaladhara' programme.

Naidu criticised the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, alleging it failed to act on incidents such as the burning of the Antarvedi temple chariot, theft of silver lions from the Durga temple in Vijayawada, and vandalism at Ramatheertham. He also mentioned the adulteration of Tirupati laddus. The current government, he said, is acting swiftly against those involved in such acts, citing a recent arrest in Adoni where a person was caught lighting a cigarette using a temple lamp.

On YouTuber Ravan, Naidu accused him of vilifying Hindu scriptures and supporting terrorism, and alleged that the YSRCP provides financial assistance to him.

Ministers Payyavula Keshav, Anagani Satyaprasad, B.C. Janardhan Reddy, NMD Farooq, MP Byreddy Shabari, and local MLAs attended the event.
