Amit Shah: Country, Youth, and Students More Important Than Any Post After Pradhan's Resignation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday stated that the nation, its youth, and students are far more significant than any ministerial position, following Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation as Education Minister. Pradhan stepped down as part of a broader cabinet reshuffle, taking on a new role as Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship?

In a brief statement, Shah said, 'The country, youth and students are far more important than any post. This reflects our government's commitment to prioritize national interest over individual ambitions.' He added that Pradhan's resignation was a routine change in portfolio and not indicative of any dissatisfaction within the party.

Dharmendra Pradhan, who had been serving as Education Minister since July 2021, submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday. He is expected to be assigned a new portfolio in the reshuffle announced later in the day. Pradhan had been overseeing the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.

Political analysts view this as a standard administrative adjustment, common in governments to align ministers' expertise with evolving policy needs. Opposition leaders, however, questioned the timing, citing pending educational reforms. The government has not provided additional details on the reasons behind the change.

The reshuffle also saw changes in other ministries, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strategy to revitalize the cabinet before the upcoming general elections. The home minister's remarks underscore the administration's focus on youth and education as key electoral constituencies.

The structure, which had been rebuilt once after a police crackdown, was taken down piece by piece, leaving only memories of the speeches and solidarity it hosted.
