Alpha Box Office: Alia Bhatt Film Crosses Rs 70 Crore Worldwide in Five Days
The Yash Raj Films spy thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has surpassed Rs 70 crore in worldwide gross collections within five days of its release, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.
As of Tuesday, the film's sixth day, its India net collection was estimated at Rs 4.25 crore, bringing the total India net to approximately Rs 42.10 crore. The India gross stands at around Rs 50.23 crore, with overseas earnings contributing an estimated Rs 19.80 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 70.03 crore.
The film opened with Rs 9 crore on Friday and saw a weekend growth, collecting Rs 11.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 13.25 crore on Sunday, resulting in an opening weekend net of Rs 34 crore. On Monday, the film earned Rs 3.85 crore, followed by Tuesday's Rs 4.25 crore, showing a 10.4% increase from the previous day.
According to Sacnilk, Alpha recorded an overall occupancy of 19.06% on its fifth day, with morning shows at 9%, afternoon at 17.08%, evening at 20.77%, and night shows peaking at 29.38%. The film was screened across 7,173 shows on Tuesday.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe and the first to feature female protagonists in lead roles. The cast includes Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in supporting roles. The film follows covert operative Sita, played by Alia Bhatt, as she uncovers her past and undertakes a dangerous mission.
Industry observers will monitor the film's performance on Wednesday to assess its weekday hold and momentum going into the second weekend.
