AIAPGET 2026: NTA Announces Re-Exam for 49 Candidates After Jaipur Power Failure

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for 49 candidates who were unable to complete the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2026 due to a power failure at a Jaipur examination centre. The re-exam is scheduled for September 1, 2026, according to an official statement.

AIAPGET 2026 was conducted on August 22 at examination centres across the country. However, a technical disruption at the Shri Satya Sai PG College Centre in Jaipur affected a group of candidates during the test. Of the 192 candidates who appeared at that centre, 49 could not finish their examination.

The NTA attributed the power disruption to M/S Eduquity Career Technologies Private Limited, the agency responsible for conducting the examination at the affected centre. The re-examination will be held at the same venue — Shri Satya Sai PG College Centre in Jaipur — starting at 10 am on September 1.

According to NTA data, the original AIAPGET 2026 examination saw a large turnout. In Shift 1 alone, 36,979 candidates had registered, of whom 35,837 appeared at 200 examination centres across the country.

The affected candidates will be issued revised admit cards with updated details. The NTA has advised them to download and check their revised admit cards carefully, confirming the examination date, reporting time, test centre address, and all other instructions before leaving for the examination.

AIAPGET is a national-level entrance test conducted for admission to postgraduate courses, including MD, MS, and PG diploma programmes in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy. The exam is a key gateway for aspiring postgraduate students in these traditional medicine streams.

This is not the first instance of technical issues disrupting NTA-conducted exams. Earlier this year, similar disruptions were reported at other centres, prompting calls for more robust infrastructure and contingency planning. The NTA has reiterated its commitment to ensuring fair opportunity for all candidates affected by such unforeseen circumstances.

The re-exam decision provides relief to the affected candidates, who would otherwise have lost a year in their academic pursuits. The NTA has assured that all necessary measures will be taken to avoid any recurrence of such issues during the upcoming re-test.

Candidates with queries are advised to check the official NTA website for the latest updates and contact the helpline if needed.
