SSC Selection Post Phase 14 2026: Exams to Start September 16; Check Full Schedule

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the examination dates for the Selection Post Phase 14 recruitment cycle. According to the official notification, the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) will be conducted from September 16 to September 26, 2026. Candidates who have applied for this recruitment can now plan their preparation accordingly.

The exam will be held in multiple shifts at various centres across the country, subject to the commission's final arrangements. SSC has not yet released the official shift timings or the venue details. These details, along with the admit cards, will be published on the commission's website in due course. Based on patterns from previous phases, the expected shift timings are: Shift 1 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM), Shift 2 (11:45 AM - 12:45 PM), Shift 3 (2:30 PM - 3:30 PM), and Shift 4 (5:15 PM - 6:15 PM). Candidates are advised to treat these timings as tentative and refer to the official notification for confirmation.

The Selection Post examination is conducted to fill various Group C and Group D posts in different ministries, departments, and organisations under the Government of India. The posts include clerical positions, data entry operators, and other support roles. The selection process is based on a single computer-based examination, followed by a skill test or document verification if applicable for specific posts.

As per the exam pattern, the paper will consist of 100 objective-type questions. These will be distributed across four sections: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. Each section will carry equal weightage, with the total marks being 200. The duration of the exam is one hour. For every incorrect answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted as negative marking. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions.

Candidates must note that the actual shift timings and the list of exam centres will be communicated through the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in) closer to the examination date. The commission generally releases the city intimation and admit card links in the weeks preceding the exam. It is advisable for candidates to regularly check the website for updates and to avoid relying on unofficial sources.

With the schedule now announced, eligible candidates are encouraged to focus on revising the core topics, practising previous years' question papers, and taking mock tests to familiarise themselves with the online exam interface. Time management and accuracy will be key, given the limited duration and the negative marking scheme.

SSC Selection Post Phase 14 is a highly competitive recruitment, with a large number of applicants vying for a limited number of positions. Aspirants should ensure they meet all eligibility criteria, including age limits and educational qualifications, as specified in the detailed notification. For complete information, candidates are urged to read the official advertisement and follow the instructions for downloading hall tickets when released.
