AAP Alleges Irregularities in Delhi Tenders Under BJP Government, Cites FIR

On Friday, June 19, 2026, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Delhi government of corruption in the issuance of tenders for various works, citing a recent First Information Report (FIR) as evidence.

Speaking at a press conference, AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that tender specifications were being altered to benefit select individuals. He referenced an FIR registered at Laxmi Nagar Police Station on June 18, based on a complaint by Shweta Arora, wife of Rajeev Arora. The complaint reportedly implicates individuals described as close to the BJP and the Delhi government.

According to Mr. Bharadwaj, the FIR states that a person with past BJP ties visited the complainant’s home to demand a commission regarding irregularities in Health Department tenders. A dispute allegedly led to verbal abuse and threats. Mr. Bharadwaj asserted that since the BJP assumed power in Delhi, media reports have frequently highlighted corruption in tenders, including those for Kanwar management tent houses, and for medicines, equipment, bedsheets, and other hospital supplies.

He further claimed that by altering tender specifications, certain contractors have gained undue benefits worth crores of rupees. The Delhi BJP did not respond to these allegations at the time of reporting.
