Visakhapatnam Students Protest Exam Scams, Police Action in Delhi
Members of the Naujawan Bharat Sabha (NBS) and Disha Students’ Organisation held a protest near the Gandhi statue, close to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) office, on Thursday. The demonstration was against alleged paper leaks in examinations, scams in the education system, and the police action on students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
The protesters expressed solidarity with the ongoing student agitation in the national capital and condemned what they described as the Delhi Police’s use of force against demonstrators.
Speaking at the event, Avinash, a member of Disha Students’ Organisation, said the protests should continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Sujan, a member of Naujawan Bharat Sabha, demanded the abolition of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and said the movement would persist until accountability is fixed. He also alleged that growing inequality is a root cause of paper leaks and the lack of educational and employment opportunities.
The protest concluded with participants raising slogans and singing protest songs.
