Uttar Pradesh claims ₹50,000 crore investment proposals from Bengaluru roadshow

Uttar Pradesh has announced that it received investment proposals worth over ₹50,000 crore from more than 15 companies following a series of industry meetings in Bengaluru led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, according to a state government release.

Speaking after the meetings, Adityanath attributed the proposals to what he described as a stable and secure environment created by the 'double-engine government' over the past nine years, which he said helped the state move from the 'Bimaru' (ailing) category to a revenue-surplus state.

Adityanath made these remarks after an industry roadshow and exploratory meetings with companies including Google. He stated that the state is actively seeking external investment partners across diverse sectors as it continues to grow.

To attract investors, Adityanath highlighted sector-specific policies, a comprehensive land bank of 75,000 acres, and land in 27 locations for industrial and logistics clusters. He also mentioned the Ganga Expressway, which he called the country's largest expressway.

The Chief Minister noted that Uttar Pradesh now has five international airports, 11 domestic airports, two Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), one Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Lucknow, five agriculture universities, 89 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and three technical universities. He claimed agricultural growth in the state is currently 18%, up from 8% earlier, and the number of large factories and industries has risen from 14,000 to 33,000.

Adityanath held a meeting with Google Cloud CTO Tarun Pant and participated in a 'Growth Dialogue' with the Google team. Discussions focused on AI and technology-based solutions for farmers, youth, start-ups, MSMEs, and citizens. Google expressed a commitment to advancing development goals in partnership with the state government, according to the Chief Minister.

Other business leaders Adityanath met included Westbridge Capital Managing Partner Sandeep Singhal, Accel Partners' Prashant Prakash, InMobi founder Piyush Shah, Yulu founder Amit Gupta, NVIDIA South Asia Managing Director Vishal Dhupar, representatives of SarvamAI, and senior officials of Blackstone.
