Ukraine Launches Digital Platform to Share Captured Russian Weapons Data with Allies

Ukraine has introduced a secure online database called TrophyLab to share technical information about captured Russian weaponry with allied nations and defence manufacturers. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence announced the initiative on its official website, stating that the platform aims to turn battlefield acquisitions into a collaborative resource for Western countries and defence industries.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainian troops, scientists, and researchers have been examining recovered Russian equipment, according to the ministry. They analyse component patterns, hardware designs, and technical vulnerabilities. TrophyLab now makes these findings available to approved foreign governments, research institutions, and international defence technology companies.

The database already contains detailed records of more than 115 captured weapon samples, spanning 79 different equipment categories. It includes data from over 225 separate technical studies. Registered users can access complete blueprints, test reports, and analytical papers on how Russian missiles, drones, and heavy vehicles operate.

The platform aggregates information from units of Ukraine's Defence Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and specialised scientific institutions. In addition to online files, verified global partners can request physical examination of the weapon samples. Depending on engineering needs, inspection can range from basic external checks to full disassembly and destructive testing. Ukrainian officials believe this hands-on access will allow engineers to test their own defence systems against real Russian equipment, potentially reducing the time needed to develop new countermeasures.

To access TrophyLab, users must apply through the official project portal. The Ministry of Defence conducts rigorous background checks on each applicant to ensure they have no ties to Russia and are not subject to international trade sanctions.
