UGC NET June 2026: NTA Set to Release Provisional Answer Key, Response Sheets

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to publish the provisional answer key for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 session on its official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The announcement comes after a delay of over a month, leaving candidates awaiting score estimates and clarity on PhD admission timelines.

The UGC NET examination was conducted across multiple shifts between June 22 and June 30, 2026, with a retest held on July 5, 2026. According to an NTA source, the examination covered 87 subjects, making the evaluation process a substantial exercise. The agency has assured candidates that results will be released soon.

Along with the provisional answer key, the NTA will also make available the attempted question paper and individual response sheets for each applicant. Candidates will have the opportunity to challenge the answer key against discrepancies, provided they submit valid justification and supporting proof. A non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 will be charged per challenged question.

Only challenges submitted through the official objection window within the stipulated timeframe will be considered. Challenges submitted without adequate justification, without evidence, after the deadline, or through any medium other than the prescribed online link will be rejected.

The UGC NET determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges. It is a crucial qualification for thousands of aspirants in higher education and research.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official UGC NET portal for updates related to the answer key, response sheets, and the challenge link. The NTA has not yet announced a specific date for the release, but the process is expected to commence shortly.

This article will be updated as soon as the answer key and related documents are officially published.
