UAE's first passenger train tickets sell out days before Abu Dhabi-Fujairah launch
The United Arab Emirates is set to launch its first passenger train service on June 30, connecting Abu Dhabi and Fujairah in 105 minutes. The service, operated by Etihad Rail Passenger Services, a joint venture between Etihad Rail and Keolis, aims to improve connectivity and support tourism and economic growth.
Ahead of the launch, tickets have seen strong demand. Many services are sold out until July 5, particularly in Premium Class. Limited Comfort Class tickets remain available. Initially, three trains will run daily from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah and three in the reverse direction, with reduced services (two per direction) on Saturdays and Sundays.
Indian tourists, who form a significant portion of UAE visitors, may find this a convenient travel option. The train offers an alternative to road travel, with a travel time comparable to driving.
