Two Women Die in Separate West Delhi Incidents After Alleged Harassment; Husband Detained
Two women have died in separate incidents in west Delhi following alleged harassment by their husbands and in-laws, according to police statements released on Thursday.
In the first incident, a 26-year-old woman died by suicide in Nangloi Extension. Police have registered a case under Sections 85 (cruelty) and 108 (abetment to suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Her husband has been detained. Police said the woman recorded videos alleging harassment and urging her parents to care for her infant daughter.
In the second incident, a 24-year-old woman was found dead in her rented room in Khyala on June 24. Her family has alleged harassment by her in-laws. A case has been registered against her husband and in-laws on cruelty allegations. Investigations are ongoing.
