Telangana pitches itself to global investors as Deputy CM concludes US visit

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has presented Telangana as one of India's most attractive investment destinations during a visit to the United States, highlighting the state's robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, uninterrupted power supply, and investor-friendly policies. The Deputy Chief Minister invited global investors and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to participate in Telangana's growth story.

Addressing a 'Meet and Greet programme' organised by the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, Mr. Vikramarka interacted with members of the Telugu diaspora, industrialists, technology leaders, and professionals from the Bay Area. He said the Telangana government was committed to creating a conducive ecosystem for investments across sectors such as manufacturing, information technology, life sciences, clean energy, and advanced industries.

Mr. Vikramarka emphasised the state's efforts to ensure availability of industrial land through dedicated corridors and industrial parks. He also spoke about strengthening institutions such as the Young India Skills University, which aims to develop a workforce equipped to meet the demands of emerging industries. Highlighting Telangana's industrial advantages, he noted that the state can provide industries with 24x7 quality power and is making progress in both conventional and renewable energy generation.

The Deputy Chief Minister underlined the government's single-window clearance system, which helps investors secure approvals quickly, reducing delays and improving ease of doing business. He also referred to the proposed Future City project, describing it as being designed with cutting-edge technology, world-class infrastructure, and sustainable urban planning. The project is expected to serve as a major hub for investments and global companies.

Telangana is focusing on sectors including IT, pharmaceuticals, green energy, advanced manufacturing, and knowledge-based industries as part of its ambition to build a $3 trillion economy, Mr. Vikramarka said. He called on the Telangana diaspora to play a greater role in the state's development through investments, technology partnerships, and industrial expansion.

During his visit to San Francisco, Mr. Vikramarka also travelled in a Waymo autonomous vehicle and later held discussions with company representatives on self-driving technology. The talks explored the feasibility of piloting autonomous mobility solutions in Hyderabad and the proposed Future City, including requirements related to mapping, road infrastructure, data connectivity, AI computing systems, and regulatory frameworks.

Mr. Vikramarka said Telangana was keen to examine how next-generation mobility technologies could be integrated into future urban development plans, positioning the state at the forefront of emerging transportation solutions. The visit underscores the state's proactive approach to attracting investment and embracing innovation, as it seeks to strengthen its position as a leading investment destination in India.
