Telangana Medical Council cracks down on unauthorised aesthetic training at Hyderabad clinic

The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has initiated action against an organisation called 'School of Aesthetics' after a surprise inspection uncovered unauthorised aesthetic medicine training programmes being conducted at a clinic in Hyderabad.

The inspection took place on July 7 at HairSigns Clinic in Hitech City. According to the TGMC, the training sessions were being led by an individual holding only a dental qualification, while participants included dentists and MBBS graduates learning aesthetic procedures.

Expressing concern, the Council stated that aesthetic procedures and related training should be carried out only by appropriately qualified and competent professionals, in line with established medical standards and regulatory norms.

The TGMC said the inspection findings will be placed before its general body for detailed deliberation and appropriate action. The report will also be forwarded to the Telangana Dental Council for necessary action regarding the alleged involvement of a dental practitioner in conducting the training programme.

Additionally, the Council announced it would initiate steps to register a First Information Report (FIR) against institutions allegedly conducting unauthorised aesthetic medicine training programmes, noting that such activities pose a significant risk to public health and patient safety.
