Tamil Nadu CM Warns Cabinet Against Corruption, Vows Action
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Thursday warned his Cabinet colleagues and senior officials that he would not tolerate corruption or irregularities in their departments.
Sources said the Chief Minister, chairing a meeting of his Cabinet, made it clear that he would not hesitate to take action against anyone found guilty and that no one could later fault him for doing so.
“Do not think that we will be in power for only five years and that you can do whatever you want. We will continue to govern the State,” he said.
Mr Vijay also advised Ministers not to make a spectacle of their inspections related to their departments.
“We are here to serve the people. Do not bring disrepute to the government. I will also take action against officials who are unwilling to cooperate with the government in implementing its programmes and achieving its goals,” he is learnt to have told them.
