Talrop Board Member Arrested in ₹10 Lakh Investment Fraud Case
The Pangode police on Friday arrested Yahiya Abdul Latheef, a member of the director board of Talrop, an ecosystem development company based in Kochi, on charges of investment fraud. The arrest was made following a complaint filed by a couple from Kallara, who alleged that they were defrauded of ₹10 lakh after investing in the company.
According to the police, the couple invested the money in 2024 and 2025 after being promised attractive returns and regular profit-sharing. They initially received some payments, but the returns eventually stopped, prompting them to approach the authorities. An FIR has been registered against four individuals, including Yahiya.
Police have intensified efforts to apprehend the remaining accused, identified as Anas, Safeer Najumudeen, and Sobir Najumudeen.
The alleged fraud came to light after Talrop terminated around 300 employees in a mass layoff, triggering wider scrutiny of its operations. Some former employees have since claimed that numerous individuals had invested in the company.
Investigations are ongoing, and police have urged other potential victims to come forward.
