Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Omraje Nimbalkar Mulls Quitting Politics After Father's Murder Acquittal

Dharashiv MP Omraje Nimbalkar, a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader facing intense scrutiny over his political loyalty, has indicated he may leave politics after a sessions court in Mumbai acquitted all accused in his father Pawanraje Nimbalkar's murder case. The MP stated he would decide on his party affiliation after consulting his constituency on Sunday.

In an interview, Omraje expressed frustration: 'Honestly, I feel like giving up politics. Even in 20 years, I could not get justice for my father. What is the use of staying in politics?' He said his sole motivation for entering politics was to secure justice for his father, but now he feels helpless and disheartened.

Omraje clarified that he did not criticize party chief Uddhav Thackeray or his son Aaditya, dismissing media reports as false. He acknowledged Thackeray's past support but noted he had not received a call from him after the verdict. Party workers in Dharashiv have planned a protest against Omraje, amid rumors that he may join the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, along with five other MPs.

Omraje's father, a Congress leader, and his driver were murdered in 2006. Former minister Padamsinh Patil, brother of Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar, was among those arrested but later acquitted. Omraje reiterated that he will discuss his future with constituents before making a decision.
