Sharad Pawar Meets Deputy CM Shinde, Stresses Dialogue on State Issues
Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar met Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the latter’s official residence in the legislative campus on Wednesday. The meeting followed Pawar’s attendance at a high-power committee meeting on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute.
According to a statement from Shinde’s office, the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. Both leaders agreed that despite political differences, dialogue and communication should continue on matters concerning state interest.
The meeting comes amid internal discussions within the NCP (SP) regarding a possible alliance with the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Some party leaders have reportedly been urging the leadership to take a decision on the matter. However, no official announcement has been made.
Pawar’s visit has sparked speculation about political realignments in Maharashtra, but neither side has confirmed any concrete developments beyond the border issue discussions.
