Ram Temple Committee Chairman Recommends Full-Time CEO for Complex Management
The chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra, has advocated for the appointment of a full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or administrator to manage the Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya. Mishra stated that the temple's operations now mirror the administration of a small district and require dedicated professional oversight.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Mishra explained that the proposed CEO would function under the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust while retaining sufficient operational autonomy for the daily management of the temple premises and related activities.
Mishra's recommendation comes amid ongoing allegations of misappropriation of donation funds and valuables offered by devotees. A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by senior IAS officer Vijay Vishwas Pant, is currently examining the systems for receiving, storing, and managing donations at the temple. The SIT is probing the allegations to ensure accountability and transparency in the temple's financial operations.
The Ram Temple, inaugurated in January 2024, has become a major pilgrimage site, attracting millions of devotees. The scale of operations, including crowd management, security, and donation handling, has necessitated a structured administrative approach, according to Mishra.
