Rahul Gandhi lands in Raipur for Congress grassroots training camp
Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, arrived in Raipur on Sunday to take part in a 10-day training camp for party office-bearers and functionaries from the Chhattisgarh unit.
He was received at the Swami Vivekananda Airport by former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Congress in-charge Sachin Pilot, state party president Deepak Baij, and former Deputy Chief Minister T.S. Singh Deo. A large crowd of party workers gathered at the airport, waving flags and raising slogans in support of Mr. Gandhi.
Mr. Gandhi proceeded directly to Abhanpur town in Raipur district, where the training programme is being held. He is scheduled to return to New Delhi later in the evening.
The training camp, organised from June 20 to 29, is aimed at strengthening the party organisation and enhancing grassroots engagement, according to a Congress functionary. District Congress Committee presidents from across the state are participating in the programme.
Participants will undertake field visits, engage in 'shramdaan' (voluntary community service) activities, and spend a night in villages to gain first-hand understanding of local issues. Subject experts will also conduct interactive sessions on contemporary social, political, and organisational issues during the camp.
