Rahul Gandhi Gets Lok Sabha Notice Over Remarks on Amit Shah; Reply Due Aug 28

The Lok Sabha Secretariat has issued a notice to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi seeking his response to privilege complaints filed by two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs. The complaints relate to remarks made by Gandhi against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

BJP MPs Anurag Thakur and Sanjay Jaiswal filed the privilege motions, alleging that Gandhi used inappropriate and disrespectful language towards Shah. The complainants argue that the remarks breached parliamentary privilege and brought disrepute to the office of the Home Minister.

According to the notice, Gandhi has been asked to submit his written response to the Secretariat by August 28. Following his reply, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will examine both the complaints and Gandhi's response before deciding on the next course of action.
