Puducherry Govt Partners with Trust to Add Health Mix to School Milk Programme

The Puducherry government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust to supply 'Saisure Chocolate Malt Health Mix' for students in government and government-aided schools. The health mix will be added to the 100 ml of milk provided under the Sri Rajiv Gandhi Breakfast Scheme.

The initiative covers students from LKG to Class 12 across all four regions of the Union Territory: Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam. According to T. Konju Mozhi Kumaran, Deputy Director of the PM POSHAN Scheme (Mid-day meal programme), the inclusion of the health mix is part of broader welfare measures under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman scheme.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Education Secretary Krishna Mohan Uppu, Director of School Education Mohan Kumar, and Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust Trustee Santhosh Allath. The release stated that the nutritional supplement aims to improve the mental, physical, and overall health of children.
