Prashant Kishor’s affidavit reveals Rs 96 crore assets; wife holds Rs 101 crore

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has declared assets worth Rs 96.06 crore in his election affidavit, while his wife, Dr Jahanvi Das, holds assets worth Rs 101.93 crore, according to the document submitted on Monday.

Kishor, who is contesting the Bankipur bypoll, filed his nomination with the Election Commission. The affidavit details movable assets of Rs 22.19 crore for Kishor and Rs 89.51 crore for his wife.

The bulk of Kishor's wealth comes from unlisted corporate equity, including a 100 per cent controlling stake in Vedhas Ventures Private Limited valued at Rs 95.26 crore. Additionally, he holds over Rs 7.36 crore in bank fixed deposits and market investments.

On immovable property, Kishor owns a dismantled rice mill in Rohtas district, Bihar, spread over more than three acres, residential properties in Patna’s Patliputra Colony, New Delhi’s Vasant Vihar and Ghaziabad, and shares in ancestral property. His total immovable assets are valued at Rs 73.87 crore, while his wife’s stand at Rs 12.42 crore.

The affidavit, a mandatory disclosure for candidates, provides a snapshot of the financial interests of Kishor and his family. Such declarations are part of the electoral process to ensure transparency.
