PM Modi announces fast-track courts for exam paper leak cases

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Thursday that the government will establish fast-track courts to handle cases of paper leaks in examinations. In a post on social media platform X, Mr. Modi said, 'We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks.' This is his first direct comment on the issue following widespread protests over the NEET-UG paper leak.

The Prime Minister compared these courts to the existing fast-track courts for cases involving Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assemblies. He also stated that he has directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to implement this decision.

Mr. Modi emphasised the government's commitment to protecting students' interests, saying, 'This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students.' He added, 'Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared.'

The announcement comes after protests by student groups and opposition parties over the alleged leak of the NEET-UG question paper, which had raised concerns about the integrity of the examination process.
