Owaisi Reassures Voters on Electoral Roll Notices, Party Offers Assistance

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday sought to reassure electors who have received anomaly notices during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He urged citizens not to panic and affirmed that the party's offices are open to help those affected.

Mr. Owaisi advised recipients to appear before the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) on the scheduled hearing date and submit any acceptable document from the prescribed list. He stressed that the SIR process must be taken seriously, warning that exclusion from the final electoral roll in October would not only mean losing the right to vote but could also cast doubt on one's citizenship status.

The AIMIM chief said the party has been working for more than two and a half months to ensure no genuine citizen is removed from the electoral list during the exercise. He listed common anomaly scenarios—such as age gaps of 50 years or more between an elector and a parent, or families with six or more siblings—and explained what documents could be produced before the ERO in each case.

Reiterating that there was no cause for alarm, Mr. Owaisi said the party was fully available to provide guidance and assistance to anyone facing difficulties in the process.
