Srinagar: National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has taken issue with BJP president JP Nadda over statements concerning a leak from Jammu and Kashmir. While acknowledging the accuracy of the leak itself, Abdullah accused Nadda of presenting facts incorrectly.
The exchange began when JP Nadda cited a purported leak to criticize the previous Omar Abdullah government in the region. Responding on social media, Abdullah stated that the leak was indeed correct, but Nadda's interpretation of facts was misleading.
“He is right about the leak, but wrong on the facts. The leak shows the truth, but he twists it to score political points,” Abdullah wrote.
Political analysts view this as part of a larger war of words ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The region has been without a full-fledged state government since 2018, following the collapse of the PDP-BJP coalition and later the abrogation of Article 370.
The BJP has consistently targeted former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over his tenure, accusing his government of corruption and inefficiency. Abdullah, in turn, has defended his record and accused the BJP of misgovernance and undermining the region’s special status.

The Election Commission is yet to announce dates for the assembly polls, but political activity has intensified across all major parties.
