NEET (UG) Re-examination Set for June 21 at 13 Centres in Erode District

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination in Erode district on June 21 (Sunday) from 2 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. at 13 examination centres. A total of 4,270 candidates are scheduled to appear for the test.

In a press release, District Collector S. Kandasamy stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth examination process. Special buses have been arranged to transport candidates to the centres, and medical teams along with police personnel will be deployed at each venue to maintain order and provide assistance.

Candidates will be permitted entry into exam centres only between 11 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. They must strictly follow the guidelines issued by the NTA. The Collector added that candidates will be allowed to take the examination only after undergoing mandatory security screening at the entrance of the examination centres.

The NEET (UG) is a national-level entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in India. The re-examination is being conducted for candidates who faced disruptions or irregularities during the main exam. The NTA has scheduled the re-test to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process.

Authorities have urged candidates to arrive early, carry necessary documents, and cooperate with security protocols. The district administration has also coordinated with local transport and health departments to facilitate a hassle-free experience for all examinees.

US Study Finds COVID-19 Vaccination Tied to Lower Risk of Heart Attacks, Strokes

A US study found that receiving the latest COVID-19 vaccine alongside the flu shot was associated with a lower risk of heart attacks and strokes. The observational study of over 1 million veterans showed a modest benefit but cannot prove causation. Indian experts caution that the findings do not warrant policy changes in India, where different vaccines are used and COVID-19 complications are rare.
