NEET UG Counselling 2026: MCC Revises Round 1 Schedule, Check Key Dates
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a revised schedule for Round 1 of the Undergraduate (UG) counselling for NEET 2026. The update, issued on August 13, 2026, affects candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing courses under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and 100% seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), AIIMS, and JIPMER (Puducherry and Karaikal).
The revised timeline supersedes the earlier schedule. As per the latest notice, candidates can complete registration and payment until August 15, 2026. The registration window closes at 2:00 PM (server time), while the payment facility will remain open until 5:00 PM on the same day.
Choice filling will begin on August 6 and continue until August 17, 2026. Candidates must submit their choices by 6:00 PM on August 17. The option to lock choices will be available from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the same day. MCC has emphasised that all timelines are based on server time, and requests for relaxation will not be entertained.
The seat allotment process for Round 1 is scheduled for August 18, 2026, with results to be declared on August 19, 2026. Candidates who secure seats must report to their allotted institutes between August 20 and August 25, 2026. Participating institutes will verify the data of joined candidates on August 26, 2026.
Earlier, the verification of the tentative seat matrix by participating institutes was conducted on August 4, 2026. The MCC advisory urges candidates to regularly check the official website — mcc.nic.in — for further updates and to adhere strictly to the revised deadlines. This counselling process is critical for aspirants seeking admission to prestigious medical institutions across India under the central quota.
Medical education experts note that such revisions are not uncommon, and candidates should remain vigilant about official notifications rather than relying on third-party sources. With the deadline for registration and choice filling approaching, candidates are advised to complete all steps well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.
