NEET UG 2026 Re-examination Begins Tomorrow: Mock Drill Underway Across 551 Cities
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting a nationwide mock drill today as part of preparations for the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination scheduled for tomorrow, June 21. The exam will be held in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, with eligible candidates with disabilities (PwD/PwBD) receiving compensatory time until 6:20 pm.
According to the NTA, over 22.79 lakh candidates are registered for the re-test across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The agency stated that all examination centres have been handed over and will operate under a three-tier security arrangement on the day of the exam.
The mock drill, which began at 9 am, is expected to involve more than 2.5 lakh security personnel nationwide. This exercise aims to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the examination. The NTA has emphasised that it is fully prepared for the test.
NEET UG is the common medical entrance examination for undergraduate courses in India. The re-examination follows earlier administrative issues that necessitated a retest. Candidates are advised to check the official NTA website for the latest guidelines and admit card details.
