MP Officials Defend CM Mohan Yadav: Family Business Separate from Government
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, did not respond to a detailed questionnaire from The Indian Express regarding purchases made by his extended family. However, state government officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, defended the Chief Minister, stating that it is incorrect to link the business activities of his relatives with his role in government.
“The CM’s extended family has been in the real estate business for a while,” an official said. “To link their businesses with the CM’s rise in politics will not be proper.”
The official further argued that scrutiny should be limited to the Chief Minister’s immediate family—spouse, son, and daughter-in-law—and noted that there may not be any significant assets there.
The Indian Express investigation had raised questions about property purchases by members of the Chief Minister’s extended family. The officials maintained that such transactions are private matters and unrelated to the Chief Minister’s official position.
