MP Congress Chief's Brother Linked to Drug Seizure, Police Allege
The arrest of two suspected drug peddlers in Indore has led to a police statement naming Nana Patwari, brother of Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari, as an intended recipient of the seized narcotics.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Narendra Rawat told the media on Tuesday that Rajendra Nagar police had arrested Irfan Khan, also known as Golu Chanderi, and Rani Bhai. A total of 10.8 grams of brown sugar was recovered from their possession, and a case is being registered against them.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed that the narcotic substance was meant for two persons, one of whom is Nana Patwari. The police officer added that a check of criminal records revealed Nana Patwari has nine previous criminal cases registered against him.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress has not yet issued an official response to the allegations. The case is under investigation, and no charges have been formally filed against Nana Patwari at this stage.
The development comes amid heightened political activity in the state, with opposition parties calling for a thorough probe. However, the police statement remains the only official account of the incident so far.
