Meerut Woman Arrested for Role in Son's Murder, Police Say She Knew of Plan

The Meerut police on Friday arrested Gurpreet Kaur, 27, for her alleged role in the murder of her six-year-old son, Angadveer. The child was found dead with his throat slit in a field about 10 km from his home on June 17.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Avinash Pandey, evidence gathered during the investigation indicates that Kaur was aware that the main accused, Arpit Parashar, had taken her son away and killed him shortly after. Parashar, a private bank manager, was arrested two days earlier on suspicion of murdering the boy in a bid to marry Kaur.

Police statements suggest that Parashar and Kaur were allegedly involved in a relationship. However, no further details have been released regarding the nature of their relationship or the motive behind the crime.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police have not ruled out further arrests.
