Kerala CPI(M) seeks clarification on CM office link to drug case accused
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has sought clarification from the Kerala government regarding the alleged association of certain individuals arrested in a drug case with the office of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The request was made by S. Satish, the CPI(M) district secretary in Kasaragod, in a statement issued on Tuesday.
In his statement, Mr. Satish claimed that Muhammed Hussain, whom he described as the social media coordinator in the Chief Minister’s office and a Youth Congress office-bearer, was arrested with MDMA during Operation Toofan at Kalikkadavu in Kasaragod. He also said that P.A. Abdul Salam and P.A. Abbas, residents of Vengola in Ernakulam, were taken into custody along with Hussain and that they were active Congress workers.
The role of a social media coordinator in a Chief Minister’s office typically involves managing public communications and online presence. If Hussain indeed held this position, the case raises questions about the vetting process for such appointments. However, no employment records have been made public to confirm this claim.
