Kejriwal Alleges Ram Mandir Donation Probe Is a 'Sham', Demands Government Change

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of shielding the 'real culprits' in an alleged embezzlement of donations made to the Ayodhya Ram Temple. Speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Kejriwal termed the investigation—a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a First Information Report (FIR)—as 'sham' and 'bogus', respectively.

'This is a sham SIT and a bogus FIR. The real culprits are being shielded. Why are they being protected?' Kejriwal asked. He further alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had not visited the Ram Temple in the 891 days since its inauguration, despite frequently invoking Lord Ram and the temple in his speeches.

'After the construction of the Ram Temple, Home Minister Amit Shah has not gone even once to bow at the feet of Lord Shri Ram,' Kejriwal claimed. The former Delhi Chief Minister also questioned the central government's role, suggesting that only a change in government could ensure punishment for those involved in the alleged scam.

'If you want the donation thieves to be punished, then the government must be changed. The present Central government and the present state government cannot ensure punishment. Every devotee of Lord Ram who wants the donation thieves to be punished should change the government,' he said.

Kejriwal also asserted that BJP leaders do not consider Lord Ram as a deity. 'These people do not consider Ram as God; otherwise, they would not steal,' he said. His remarks come amid an escalating political row over the handling of donations at the Ram Temple, with the AAP demanding an impartial investigation and accountability.
