Karnataka Targets ₹5,000 Crore GCC Investment and 62,000 New Jobs via KDEM-GoodWorks MoU

The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GoodWorks Group, a technology ecosystem enabler, to strengthen the state's position as a leading destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The partnership aims to attract additional investment of ₹5,000 crore through 50 new GCCs and expansions of existing ones over the next five years.

KDEM, which serves as a bridge between the Karnataka government and the industry, will collaborate with GoodWorks on investment promotion, international outreach, policy support, industry engagement, research, talent development, and strategic collaborations. The initiative is expected to generate over 62,500 direct and indirect jobs, translating to an estimated ₹2,250 crore in annual salaries flowing into the state's economy. It is also projected to create demand for 1.25 million square feet of commercial real estate.

The agreement focuses on attracting global enterprises to set up and scale operations in Karnataka. Under the partnership, GoodWorks and its affiliate Sansovi GCC will support investor engagement, organise sector-focused roundtables, facilitate international business delegations, and prepare industry research and GCC reports. They will also assist in policy implementation, build knowledge platforms, and strengthen academia-industry partnerships.

The collaboration will also promote Karnataka in key international markets, including North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and West Asia. According to the partners, the initiative will create over 12,500 high-skilled direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs. GoodWorks’ NetSkill Learning platform, an AI-powered talent development service, will be leveraged to create GCC-specific learning pathways and build a ready workforce for global enterprises.
