Karnataka NEET: Link Roll Number by Aug 3 for Medical, Dental, AYUSH Admissions
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has activated a link on its official website for candidates who have qualified in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) to connect their NEET roll number with their Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) application. This step is mandatory for those seeking admission to medical, dental, and AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) courses in the state.
According to a notice issued by the KEA, candidates must visit the designated portal, enter their NEET roll number, and then download the updated application form along with the verification slip. The facility was launched on August 1, and the last date to complete the process is August 3. The authority has urged candidates to finish the linkage well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical glitches.
On the very first day, over 25,000 candidates successfully submitted their roll numbers, reflecting the urgency and the high number of aspirants seeking admission to these professional courses. The KEA has also published the state merit list based on NEET scores. The list has been prepared in descending order of merit, with the candidate securing All India Rank (AIR) 20 placed first in the Karnataka State rank list.
In addition, the scorecards of a total of 69,170 qualified candidates have been made available on the KEA website, allowing applicants to verify their ranks and positions. The publication of the state merit list is a crucial step in the counselling process, as it determines the order in which candidates will be called for seat allotment.
NEET is the single entrance examination for undergraduate medical and dental courses across India, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). In Karnataka, the KEA oversees the state counselling process, which includes seats under the government quota, private medical and dental colleges, and institutions offering AYUSH courses. The linking of the NEET roll number with the CET application enables the KEA to seamlessly integrate the candidates' NEET scores with their preference details for the counselling rounds.
Candidates are advised to carefully double-check the roll number entered, as an incorrect entry could lead to discrepancies in the allotment process. After submission, they should retain a copy of the updated application form and the verification slip for future reference. The KEA has also set up a helpdesk to address any technical issues that candidates may encounter while using the portal.
This year's NEET examination saw a significant number of aspirants from Karnataka, and the state's merit list reflects a highly competitive scenario. The top-ranked candidate in the state, who secured AIR 20, has set a benchmark for others. The KEA is expected to release the detailed counselling schedule shortly, including the choice-filling and seat allotment dates.
For now, all qualified candidates must ensure they complete the roll number linkage by August 3. Failure to do so may result in their application being considered incomplete, potentially affecting their chances of admission. The KEA has emphasised that no extension will be granted beyond this deadline.
