India, Bhutan review progress of development projects under 13th Five Year Plan
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met his Bhutanese counterpart Dasho Pema Lektup Dorji in Thimphu on Thursday, where the two sides co-chaired the 5th India-Bhutan Development Cooperation Talks. The meeting focused on assessing the implementation of India-supported projects across multiple sectors under Bhutan's 13th Five Year Plan.
The Indian Embassy in Thimphu announced the meeting on social media, stating that the talks reviewed the progress and implementation of development projects backed by India in diverse fields. These discussions are part of the regular bilateral development cooperation mechanism between the two neighbouring countries.
The embassy noted that Bhutan appreciated India's significant support and contribution to its development priorities under the current five-year plan. This acknowledgement underscores the strong partnership between India and Bhutan in advancing the Himalayan kingdom's socio-economic goals.
The 5th edition of the talks reflects the continued collaboration under the long-standing development partnership, which spans areas such as infrastructure, education, health, and hydropower. Both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthening ties through mutually beneficial projects.
