IIT Delhi and AMTZ join forces to accelerate medical robotics innovation
The Technology Innovation Hub Foundation for IoT and IoE (IHFC) at IIT Delhi and AIC-AMTZ MediValley at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate innovation in medical robotics and intelligent healthcare technologies, officials announced on Sunday.
The partnership combines IHFC's expertise in artificial intelligence, robotics, cyber-physical systems, and autonomous technologies with AMTZ's integrated MedTech manufacturing and innovation ecosystem. The collaboration aims to speed up the development, testing, and translation of next-generation medical robotic solutions into real-world healthcare applications.
“India has the talent to lead the world in medical robotics. What we need is an ecosystem that transforms ideas into life-saving technologies. At AMTZ, we are building that ecosystem by bringing together innovation, manufacturing and entrepreneurship,” said AMTZ Managing Director Jitendra Sharma.
“This collaboration is another step towards AMTZ’s larger mission of building a future where every breakthrough in healthcare reaches the people who need it most. By bringing together innovation, research, and manufacturing, we are creating technologies that have the power to save lives and transform healthcare,” he added.
According to an AMTZ release, the organisation has built one of India's most comprehensive MedTech innovation ecosystems, supporting over 100 startups dedicated exclusively to healthcare innovation. These startups work across areas including AI-powered diagnostics, medical devices, biotechnology, rehabilitation technologies, and digital health solutions.
With incubation centres such as Medivalley Incubation Council, Bio Valley Incubation Council, Bharat Limb Centre (BLC), and the Centre of Excellence for Additive Manufacturing, AMTZ enables innovators to move from concept to prototyping, validation, manufacturing, and commercialisation.
Unlike conventional incubators, AMTZ provides startups with access to advanced manufacturing, prototyping facilities, testing laboratories, regulatory guidance, quality certification, clinical collaborations, and commercialisation support.
