Union Home Minister Amit Shah will embark on a three-day visit to West Bengal from July 17 to 19. The visit will include inspections of border security installations, meetings on governance and law and order, and the inauguration of development projects.
On July 18, Shah is scheduled to visit the Jumagach Border Outpost in Siliguri and interact with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the 18th Battalion Border Outpost. He will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several BSF-related development projects, according to official sources.
In the afternoon, the Home Minister is expected to chair a meeting focusing on border-related issues in West Bengal. The agenda includes reviewing operational preparedness and coordination between central and state agencies. He will also review the implementation of three new criminal laws in the state.
The visit underscores the central government's focus on strengthening border security and ensuring effective law enforcement in the region.
