Congress moves to strengthen grassroots units in Haryana, says Dutt
Haryana Congress in-charge Sanjay Dutt on Friday emphasised that frontal organisations form the backbone of the party, as he issued directives to revitalise these units across the state.
Speaking after a meeting with state presidents of all frontal organisations, departments and cells of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Dutt outlined measures to strengthen the party structure at the grassroots level. The meeting was also attended by HPCC president Rao Narender Singh.
Mr. Dutt urged the organisations to focus on issues concerning women's rights, women's empowerment, rising atrocities against women, inflation, unemployment and women's safety. He said that increasing women's participation in politics and society, and fighting for their rights, should be the highest priority for the Mahila Congress.
Referring to the 'Seva Dal', he described it as the backbone of the Congress organisation, playing a vital role in every party programme. He called on workers to activate the organisation in every village.
Regarding the Indian National Trade Union Congress, which is affiliated with the Congress, he noted its work in protecting workers' rights and fighting exploitation. He directed the organisation to launch a widespread awareness campaign to strengthen the party's appeal among the labour community.
Mr. Dutt also stressed the need to strongly advocate for the rights of Other Backward Classes, social justice and constitutional representation. He called for an extensive outreach campaign among Panchayat representatives and rural communities to promote the Congress party's policies.
“All frontal organisations and departments are the strength of the Congress Party. If every organisation works actively in its respective field, the party's mass base and organisational structure will become even stronger. All office-bearers should remain continuously engaged with the people and raise public issues prominently,” he added.
