Commercial LPG Prices Slashed by Rs 183.50, Households Await Relief

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 183.50, effective July 1. This is the first reduction in commercial LPG prices this year, offering relief to businesses such as hotels and restaurants that had faced repeated price increases due to geopolitical tensions and high global energy costs.

The revised rate for a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 2,930, down from Rs 3,113.50. The cut is expected to lower operational costs for establishments that rely heavily on commercial LPG, including eateries, bakeries, and catering services.

Meanwhile, domestic LPG prices for households remain unchanged. The standard 14.2-kg domestic cylinder continues at existing rates across the country. Oil companies revise LPG prices on the first of each month, but domestic rates are also influenced by government policy.

The reduction comes after months of steep hikes triggered by supply disruptions in the Middle East and elevated international LPG prices. While the latest cut signals some easing, commercial LPG prices remain significantly higher than before the spike earlier this year.

For households, no immediate change in cooking gas bills is expected. The government has not announced any subsidy or price revision for domestic cylinders in this cycle.
