CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Summoned by IT Ministry Panel Over X Account Suspension

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), announced on Wednesday that he will appear before a review committee of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) concerning the suspension of the party's X account.

The ministry had reportedly summoned Dipke to its headquarters for a hearing regarding the government's decision to withhold the @CJP_2029 account. In a post on his personal X account, Dipke stated, “Today at 3 PM, I will personally appear before the Review Committee of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology regarding the withholding of our account, @CJP_2029.”

Dipke is currently leading a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and has vowed not to leave the site until his demands are met. The CJP, a fringe political outfit, has been vocal in its criticism of government policies, and the suspension of its social media account has sparked a debate on freedom of speech and the powers of the IT ministry.

The hearing is expected to address the reasons for the account suspension, which the ministry has not publicly detailed. Dipke’s appearance comes amid heightened scrutiny of social media platforms and their compliance with Indian laws.
