Celina Jaitly announces film comeback amid personal legal battle
Actress Celina Jaitly, known for Bollywood films like No Entry, Golmaal Returns, and Thank You, has announced her return to acting with the upcoming film Sister Nivedit. The announcement comes as she navigates a legal dispute with her estranged husband.
In a post on X, Jaitly wrote, “Dear all…. It’s difficult but I have no other option but to return to my craft because that is what I do best and that is what will perhaps rescue me from whatever life has thrown my way. I hope to have your love and support in this journey and remain grateful to all who are standing by me and helping me get through these difficult times.”
The actress did not provide further details about the legal battle or the film’s plot and release date. Jaitly, who took a break from acting after her marriage in 2011, has been living in Austria with her children. Her last major Bollywood appearance was in the 2011 film Thank You.
Sister Nivedit is based on the life of the Irish-born missionary who worked in India. Jaitly’s role in the film has not been disclosed. The project is expected to go on floors later this year.
