Bombay HC Creates Special Courts for Exam Leak Cases Amid Student Protests
The Bombay High Court on Friday designated two special courts in Nagpur and Aurangabad to handle cases related to exam paper leaks, as hundreds of students protested in Mumbai and Nagpur over the NEET paper leak incident.
The decision follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement on Thursday that fast-track courts would be established to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. In a post on social media, the Prime Minister stated that the welfare of the youth is of utmost importance and that those who harm the future of students will not be spared.
The special courts are expected to expedite the legal process in pending cases linked to various examinations, addressing public concern over delays in justice. The protests, led by students demanding accountability and stricter measures, have highlighted widespread frustration with the repeated instances of exam paper leaks.
